We believe that the church is the family of God. This means that everyone is gifted and responsible for different aspects of seeing the church thrive. We are a family, and like a family, we all pitch in.

Serve Teams

We would love for everyone who calls Anthem their home to serve because we are a people who have been truly served by Jesus through His life, death, and resurrection. We have several different serve teams that would be incredibly blessed to have you join including kids, first impressions, worship, and tech.

How do I start?

If you’ve been served by any church of Anthem, whether it be through greeters on Sundays, teachers in your child’s Anthem Kids classroom, enjoying a cup of coffee or tea before service, musicians on stage leading us in worship, or any number of other ways—chances are you’ve been served by a faithful volunteer giving up time and talent to serve Jesus by serving you.

If you consider Anthem your church, we ask you to serve as a volunteer. By doing so, you’re an essential part of helping others meet Jesus. And if you’re a member, you’ve committed to serve generously as part of being at Anthem Church.

A great place to start is with relationship. If you are new to Anthem Church, email thousandoaks@anthemchurch.org to get the ball rolling.

The leadership of Anthem begins with Jesus.

Our Team

The Bible clearly teaches that Jesus is the Head of the Church (Eph. 1:22–23, 4:15, 5:23). He is the One that we seek and follow as He continues to advance the movement that He started 2,000 years ago through His perfect life, substitutionary death and victorious resurrection. After He ascended into heaven, He gave us His Spirit and established His Church to be led by elders.

It’s His church, and he’s our Senior Pastor. Underneath the guidance of Jesus are leaders who follow Jesus and encourage others to follow him as well. At Anthem Church, our formal leadership structure involves elders, staff, and church members.

We believe The Bible is clear that a group of men are called to be the Pastor/Elders of the local church. Anthem Church is an elder-led church that submits to the authority of the Bible. Scripture uses three words interchangeably to refer to the function of one and the same person:

  • “Presbuteros” – Elder (executes God’s justice and government and administrates the affairs of the church.
  • "Episcopos” – Overseer or bishop (oversees, a guardian, gatekeeper or watchman).
  • “Poimain” – Shepherd or pastor (shepherd the flock, nurture and care for the flock, feed the flock). See Acts 20:17, 28; Titus 1:5,7; 1 Peter 5:1-2

The Anthem Thousand Oaks Pastor/Elders work in partnership and relationship with the Pastor/Elders at Anthem Camarillo and Anthem Ventura.

To fulfill all the tangible, practical, spiritual, and leadership needs of the church, the elders have a staff team that supports them in fulfilling the mission of Anthem Thousand Oaks.
